Long term decisons for a brighter future
Long term decisons for a brighter future
I was born and raised in London, then moved to Nottingham 15 years ago. Nottingham is now my home. I am a mum to five wonderful children and married to a spinal surgeon who works for the NHS. My mum was born in Scotland and my father is from Pakistan, who migrated to the UK in 1975 and practised as a criminal barrister. I am one of four siblings, but sadly lost two of my brothers in a tragic accident in the West Indies whilst they were on a cricketing tour. Experiencing a tragedy in our family made me appreciate what is most important and precious in life, family.
Whilst studying a law degree in London, I also worked for Debenhams to help pay for my studies and support my family. I then worked for the Home Office in London and qualified as a lawyer. I joined a local legal firm in Nottingham where I specialised in Private Litigation. During the end of the Covid pandemic, I set up my own social care company as I wanted to create reforms in an industry that was drowning and suffering. In the space of only 2 years, I offered over 200 jobs to locals in Nottingham. My company is now the fastest growing care company in the East Midlands where we focus on quality care back in the community and providing job satisfaction and security to all my employees.
When I'm not working, I love spending time with family and watching all sports as well as going cycling to Sherwood Pines with the family! I have a keen interest in ancient Egyptology (and once wanted to be an Egyptologist!). I love cooking too.
The Conservative values match the values I believe in; working hard, family at the core of everything, educating our communities and children, making sure women and children are safe and are not abused or in fear, supporting small businesses to thrive as they are at the heart of our economy, maintaining and respecting our diverse communities and their values, keeping taxes low and giving everyone a chance in life.
Nottingham is in desperate need of a change and for someone responsible and mature enough to look at its issues, help problem solve and be their voice in Parliament and representing our diverse community that we should be proud of. Our community has so much to offer and so much potential, I am hoping to be able to steer the constituency in the right direction to help us prosper and give our children a brighter future.
It is time to hold Labour to account for the state they have left our city in over the last 30 years.
